Yuba University football coach resigns, season in jeopardy 02:13
MARYSVILLE — Yuba University in Marysville is without a head football coach and the rest of this season could be in jeopardy.
With only three games remaining in the season, there is a possibility that the stands will be empty and the team will have to withdraw.
The resignation was confirmed to the staff, but the details of the resignation are unclear. The school district said in a statement:
“This is an internal personnel matter. The Yuba Community College District takes the allegations seriously and is taking appropriate action. As such, we are unable to comment further.”
It is unclear what the specific allegations are. It was not possible to contact his former coach. The athletic club also didn't want to talk about it. It is also unclear whether the school is considering hiring an interim coach.
This week is bye week. The soccer team will not have a game, but instead will discuss how to proceed.
As of now, Yuba University's next football game is scheduled for November 9th against Siskiyous University. It's an away game in the city of Weed.
