FIFA has named Verizon as the Official Communications Services Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 26™ in Canada, Mexico and the United States, and as a Tournament Supporter for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™ in the United States.
Verizon has built a reputation as the go-to communications network partner for leading sports and entertainment companies and will now power the FIFA World Cup experience for fans, players, media and more.
Verizon Boosts Connectivity for FIFA World Cup 26
The 26th FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States for the first time since 1994, with additional dates in Canada and Mexico. It will be the largest tournament in history, with 48 teams competing in 104 matches.
Verizon's connectivity services will play a key role in the FIFA World Cup 26 across stadiums, official sites and various parts of the tournament operations. This is the first agreement between the two organizations. In partnership with FIFA, Verizon will help accommodate fans, players and visitors across the country by connecting them to all the action through its stadium, community and city networks. Additionally, Verizon will roll out a program that allows international fans arriving in the U.S. and Canada to access the Verizon network, ensuring reliable connectivity for all visitors.
“The FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women's World Cup are events that connect communities around the world who share a passion for soccer,” said Hans Vestberg, chairman and CEO, Verizon. “Verizon is committed to delivering experiences that fans love, both on the ground and on the move. Our partnership with FIFA will strengthen our connection to soccer fans around the world, enabling experiences that only Verizon can deliver.”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino added: “Football unites the world, and to unite the world, everyone must be connected. Verizon will join us on this journey to make football truly global, building a network that connects fans, players, partners and media alike in 2026. We believe in the power of unity, and we are pleased that Verizon's involvement in these two groundbreaking tournaments will help grow this global game.”
