Heading into Week 4 of the 2024 season, several NFL teams are dealing with new injury outbreaks.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert underwent X-rays following the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Miami Dolphins are already using their third quarterback in three weeks.
Heading into Week 4, here are some updates on key injured players.
Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers
Quarterback Justin Herbert left the game after Sunday's loss to the Steelers, but X-rays on his right ankle came back negative.
Herbert's availability for Week 4 remains unclear as a high-profile matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs looms.
Skylar Thompson, QB, Dolphins
The Dolphins could be looking at their third starting quarterback of the year with just four games to play.
Backup Skylar Thompson, who started in place of the concussed Tua Tagovailoa, was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with bruised ribs. Tim Boyle took over for Thompson.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Thompson's status will be “day-to-day” but added that the team is evaluating its quarterback options, including the possibility of starting recent addition Tyler Huntley, ahead of the team's Monday Night Football matchup with the Tennessee Titans.
Jordan Love, QB, Packers
The Green Bay Packers are in good form with quarterback Jordan Love recovering from a knee injury.
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Love will have limited practice early in the week as the Packers prepare to host the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.
Najee Harris, RB, Steelers
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he doesn't think Najee Harris' injured right arm is a cause for concern and expects the running back to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Joe Mixon, RB, Texans
Joe Mixon missed the Houston Texans' Week 3 loss to the Vikings due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 2 during what appeared to be a hip drop tackle.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles
DeVonta Smith left the game after taking a hard hit in the fourth quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. He was ruled out of the game due to a concussion.
Trey McBride, TE, Cardinals
Trey McBride is undergoing concussion testing after a head-on collision with Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch in Week 3.
