KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Rain is badly needed for drought-stricken East Tennessee (and to a lesser extent Southeast Kentucky). Rain will not only brighten up the fall foliage later, but will brighten up brown grass in the short term. Wednesday is a WVLT First Alert Weather Day as puddles may form on roads by the afternoon.
TONIGHT: Scattered showers or storms. Otherwise partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 60s to around 70. Light winds will be present.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy early in the morning, increasing clouds in the afternoon with some storms, especially from the Cumberland Plateau to southeastern Kentucky. Highs around 90. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.
First Alert Weather Forecast for Wednesday: Scattered showers and storms will develop during the morning, becoming more widespread during the afternoon. Some areas may experience puddles on the roads and heavy rain at times, especially during the drive home from work. Due to the clouds and rain, highs will only reach the low to mid 70s Fahrenheit.
