On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 134-110 in Ohio.
While they suffered a blowout loss, Bronny James garnered a lot of attention by scoring his first career NBA points.
From House of Highlights: “Bronnie’s first NBA bucket. 🍿🔥
Welcome to the league. 👏”
Bronny shot 1/2 from the field in five minutes, had two points, two assists, and one steal.
After the game, two-time NBA champion J.R. Smith spoke about the 20-year-old (via Nightcap).
Smith: “You hear about so many different kids, so many different situations. Their parents are stars, they're arrogant, they're cocky, they think the world should be their oyster.” It's very humbling for Bronny to see him in that situation and he's very grateful for the opportunity.”
The Lakers fell to 3-2 in the first five games of the new season.
LeBron James finished with 26 points, six rebounds, and three assists on 9-of-13 field goals and 1-of-3 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Following the Cavaliers, the Lakers will play the Toronto Raptors in Canada on Friday.
