HISTORY EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The No. 8 ranked University of Chicago men's soccer team traveled to Wisconsin to take on No. 11 ranked UW-Eau Claire with a shot at their fifth straight win. Unfortunately, for the second time this season, the Maroons struggled to get their offense going, suffering a shutout loss to the Blugolds, 1-0.

How it happened
No. 8 ranked University of Chicago (5-2) was tasked with overcoming an early 1-0 deficit in their match against No. 11 ranked UW-Eau Claire (6-0-2). The Blugolds took a total of nine shots in the first half, scoring a two-pointer just 11 minutes, 21 seconds into the first half. Meanwhile, the Maroons took just five shots in the opening period and went into halftime trailing 1-0. UW-EC's defense came out strong in the second frame, holding University of Chicago to just three shots. In total, only two of the Maroons' eight shots reached the Blugold keeper, preventing the home team from scoring, but not the tying goal that led to a 1-0 loss.
