Max Delight ran the fastest last 400 meters to take second place in last Saturday night's “Golden Ticket” feature, the Battle of Beersheba at Menangle.
This effort has seen Max Delight move up from eighth to sixth in Round 3 of the ID24 Pacer Rankings released by Harness Racing NSW today.
Max Delight has competed in the Inter-Dominion Championship twice, most recently in the 2021 edition held at Menangle, where he placed fourth behind Bonsel Benjamin in the Grand Final.
Other big changes in the pacer rankings this round include Andy Gass-trained horses Catch-A-Wave, Tango Tara and Yambukian's Scratch.
Gass also excluded Carme the Breeze from the ID24 Trotting Championship, giving the star trotter the possibility of being allocated a trip to New Zealand.
The main mover among the trotters in round three of the rankings has moved up from 11th to fifth in the standings after winning the Tony and Jill McGrath free-for-all at Menangle last Saturday night. This is the Victorian Aldebaran Zeus.
Group 1-winning trotters Plymouth Chubb, currently ranked ninth, will be competing as starters for the first time since January and will be aiming for a bonus point against Melton this Saturday night.
The fourth and final round of the Inter-Dominion Rankings for the 2024 series will be announced on November 20th.
The top 36 pacers qualify for the Inter Dominion Pacing Championship and the top 24 trotters qualify for the Inter Dominion Trotting Championship.
The ID24 will be held at three different courses – Bathurst, Newcastle and Menangle, but all heats will have 12 starters, eight at the front and four in the second row.
