Inspired by the famous Tour de France, “Tour de Gyeongnam 2024'' is scheduled to bring fierce competition to South Korea's southern coast from November 7th to 11th.
The race is sponsored by Gyeongsangnam-do in cooperation with the Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Association and the Korea Cycling Federation, and will feature top domestic cyclists competing for victory on a 65km course in Namhae-gun on November 9th.
This year's event aims to introduce Gyeongnam's scenic southern coastline and the historic site of General Yi Sun-shin to domestic and international audiences.
Covering a total distance of 300km, participants will run through Tongyeong, Geoje, Namhae, and Changwon over four days.
The Namhae-gun race will start from Chungnyeolsa Temple at 9:30 a.m., visit major landmarks such as Yi Sun-shin Ocean Park, Seomyeon Sports Park, and Masked Performance Museum, and end at Seolcheon-myeon Rotary Park.
Elite cyclists ranked within the top 300 of the Korea Cycling Federation will participate in this event, ensuring a high-quality event.
Next year, the event will grow further and become the internationally recognized Tour de Gyeongnam 2025, welcoming world-class cyclists under the endorsement of the International Cycling Union (UCI).
