Texans running back Joe Mixon has not yet practiced.
Mixon missed Sunday's game against the Vikings after suffering an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Bears. Bears linebacker TJ Edwards was fined $16,883 for the hip drop tackle that injured Mixon.
Backup running back Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also continues to be absent from practice. He did not play in Sunday's game.
Cam Akers replaced Mixon and Pierce against the Vikings and was limited to just 21 yards on nine attempts.
Wide receiver Tank Dell (chest) also did not participate in Wednesday's practice after catching five passes for 62 yards Sunday before exiting in the fourth quarter.
“What's in the tank is going to change from day to day,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said in a team memo. “We'll see how he develops going forward.”
Defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (shoulder) was among those absent from Wednesday's practice.
Offensive guard Kenyon Green (illness), offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson (calf), tight end Dalton Schultz (ankle) and safety Jimmie Ward (groin) were limited.
